Asian Premiere of the Award-winning Chilean Play

A mysterious death. A heated parent-teacher debate. This searing examination of the roots of abuse asks: Can school bullying ever be "just an isolated case"?

When a nine-year-old girl becomes entangled in the mysterious death of a dog, what begins as an ordinary parent-teacher meeting soon spirals into a fierce confrontation. As the discussion unfolds, questions surrounding the dog's death, conflicts between classmates, and systemic bullying begin to surface. Are these truly isolated incidents – or symptoms of something far deeper?

Inspired by the childhood and adolescent experiences of school bullying endured by Chilean playwright and director Catalina Ceresuela, An Isolated Case offers a sharp dissection of bullying within educational institutions.

Performed by Chilean theatre company Arte un rato (“Art, Awhile”), this production received the 19th Chilean National Playwriting Award and has toured extensively to theatres and festivals across Chile, including the Teatro a Mil International Festival.

The HKPAX International Showcase of An Isolated Case marks the production’s Asian premiere.
